The most important aspect of dance photography is choosing a photographer that knows proper dance technique. Whitney began dancing when she was three, and danced competitively through college. Though some of the terminology may be hard to recall, she is confident in how technique and skills should look. Capturing a dancer’s passion is more important than capturing perfect skills, but Whitney doesn’t stop until she has captured the dancer’s best shot. The dancer is engaged in the shoot, viewing images on the back of the camera, so they can be sure their technique is captured just how they imagined. Whether their strength is their jumps, their extensions, or other dance skills, Whitney is sure to showcase their talent in a unique way!

At Whitney Collins Photography, we believe dance portraits should be a reflection of each dancer- their skills, their favorite dancewear, and the places they love. No two dancers are the same- and no two dance sessions are exactly the same. From the studio, to downtown, to the beach, we want your dancer’s portrait session to be a unique experience they will never forget. We believe every dancer should feel like a model for the day, and we have a team of professionals ready to take the experience to the next level. Think of this more like a fashion photoshoot- hair and makeup, wardrobe styling and an on-set assistant are all part of this experience!

Dance sessions are perfect for dancers of all ages, skill-levels, and preferred genres.
